Summer Results Days 2026:
A level Results Day - 13 August 2026 in the Sixth Form Centre at 8am
GCSE Results Day - 20 August 2026 in the Sixth Form Centre at 9am
Publication of GCSE and A level exam results by the local press
To protect student privacy we do not send results by name to the local press.
GCSE and A level results collection
Please note results cannot be given out over the phone or by email, and can only be collected by the student or a person authorised by them. Therefore if your son/daughter is unable to collect their own results an alternative person can be nominated by them. This must be by prior arrangement before results day.
There are two ways to do this:
- A letter of authorisation to the school signed by the student concerned for the attention of the Exams Officer clearly stating who can collect their results
- Via email with Exam Results as the subject sent to the Exams Officer using the address exams@poyntonhigh.org.uk from the student’s own email address and clearly stating who can collect their results.
Please note that we are unable to accept emails or letters from parents and we cannot give out results on the day to anyone other than the student unless a letter or email (from the student) has been received into school prior to Results Day.
EXAM RESULTS APP - YEAR 11
From August 2026 there will be a national pilot of the new Education Record App. Results day will still go ahead as normal and we look forward to celebrating with students in August.
Education records are part of a new service from the Department for Education (DfE) to provide students with their education information and help them share this information as part of their post-16 journey.
Education records contain unique education information for each student, including:
- their name, address and date of birth
- the schools they have attended
- their qualifications (after results are released)
- any support needs
Education records will be issued on the DfE education record app. Students must download the app onto their phones from the Apple or Google App Stores. The rest of the issuing process will take place in school.
The Apple version of the app requires iOS version 15.0 or newer and the Android version requires 8.0 or newer.
After the issuing process, pupils will have their education information on their phones. They can then use the app to share this information digitally with sixth forms or colleges when they enrol.

EXAM CERTIFICATES 2025 and earlier
Well done to all the students who worked so hard to achieve their results.
We have certificates from 2024 and earlier and encourage students to come to school to collect their certificates. Reception is open Monday – Friday between 8am and 4pm to collect them. You will need to collect the certificates yourself or send a letter of authorisation with the person who will be collecting them on your behalf.
If a student would like another person to collect their certificates on their behalf, the person collecting must have authorisation from the student in the form of a letter or a printed email. The school will retain the letter or email as proof of collection.
It is important to keep examination certificates safe as they will be required by employers in future years. It is no longer possible to get replacement certificates from the examination boards.
